Mis Inicios.
Durante mi primer día de trabajo en el diario El País, de Cali, Colombia, fui enviada a cubrir noticia roja y de orden público. El veterano director de la sección me dijo: "Así que es periodista... pues ¡a la calle, a cubrir muertes, para que se curta!". Y así salté de la clase de ética periodística en la Universidad a cubrir la realidad diaria de mi país.
Posteriormente me permitieron incursionar en temas políticos, económicos, sociales y deportivos por todo el suroccidente colombiano. Poco tiempo después el prestigioso diario El Espectador me invitó a formar parte de sus filas.
On my first day working in the newspaper “El Pais”, of Cali (Colombia), I was addressed to cover criminal news. The veteran editor of this section told me: "So, you are a journalist... then down to the streets to cover death, then you’ll fit in this business!" And then I made my jump from the ethical classes in the university to the real news in my country. I then began covering political, economic, sport and social news all over the southwest region of Colombia. Soon the renowned newspaper “El Espectador” invited me to be part of their team.

Primera mujer reportera gráfica de conflicto armado en Colombia. En los
90´s me especialicé en cobertura de zonas de conflicto armado, trafico de drogas, guerrilla y paramilitarismo, trabajando para los principales diarios de Colombia como El Tiempo y El Espectador, y agencias de noticias internacionales como AP y France Press. A cargo de investigaciones, realización de entrevistas, reportajes y edición de artículos de prensa, aparte de continuar con la reportería gráfica, mi gran pasión.
Colombia's first female photojournalist covering armed conflict zones. Journalist and Reporter specializing in coverage of armed conflict zones, drug trafficking, guerrilla movement, paramilitary groups and war for most renowned newspapers of Colombia as “El Tiempo”, “El Espectador”, and international news agencies as AP and France Press. In charge of research, interviews, reports and edit press articles. This vast amount of experience has built up to become my greatest passion.
Directora De Revista.
A inicios del año 2000, recien llegada a los EE. UU. asumo la dirección, creación y desarrollo de la revista TV Notas y su introducción en el mercado hispano de los Estados Unidos. Fue la primera vez que pude contratar mi equipo de periodistas y dirigir una redacción. Como Directora Editorial defino y selecciono el contenido a publicar y coordino el equipo de periodistas y corresponsales a mi cargo, así como toda una red de paparazi. También es la primera vez que realizo entrevistas a personalidades y artistas.
On the first months of 2000 year, just having arrived at the US, I was hired to create and develop the introduction of "TV Notas" Magazine into the U.S. Hispanic market. I was responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of the staff, journalists, correspondents, photographers, and paparazzi for "TV Notas" Magazine. I also was directing stories of interest, as well as conducting journalistic research and coordinating the writing and editing, of press articles and celebrity interviews. This was my first time as Chief Editor.
